Charles O. Gordon Memorial Scholarship

The House of Gordon USA awards a minimum of three scholarships per year through the Charles O. Gordon Memorial Scholarship Program to our youth (and the young at heart) who wish to further their tutelage in the Scottish Arts, including but not limited to: piping, highland drumming, highland dance, fiddle, heavy athletics, and Gaelic language study.
One scholarship is reserved for the Grade IV Junior Piper of the Day at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. Two scholarships will be awarded as individual scholarship grants.
All applicants of at least ten years of age who are involved in learning a Scottish Art are welcome to apply for the Charles O. Gordon Memorial Scholarship for the Scottish Arts. The scholarship is given based on the need and commitment of the applicant. You do not need to be a member or a descendant of a member of the House of Gordon to apply.
Applications for 2023 will open January 1, 2023.
Deadline to receive applications is March 20, 2023.
Recipients will be announced in honor of Tartan Day on April 6th, Tartan Day.
The scholarship will be given as a cash grant in an amount at the discretion of the Board of Directors but not to exceed $500.00.
All recipients must write an acknowledgement of receipt and a follow-up letter of their progress and/or experience in their chosen Scottish art for publication in the House of Gordon USA publication, In The House!
